Benson and Claire were born with a rare genetic disease in which their liver produces too much oxalate--called primary hyperoxaluria. Claire's condition has progressed much faster than Benson's. She was on dialysis since she was 3 months old and for much of that time, did dialysis 3 hours a day, 6 days a week. She receive a much needed kidney / liver transplant on December 18, 2009. It is expected Benson will eventually need similar transplants.

Fall

We went to an apple orchard last weekend with some friends, hence all the apple fun we've had this week. The weather was beautiful. The company was the best. The kiddos loved it.

Claire and Mabel were both very intrigued by the chickens! The pigs, sheep, rabbits and goats were fun too!

WE love FALL! Even with a front yard that looks like this!

...with plenty of leaves still left to fall!

Looks like lots of work to pick up all of the leaves. But what a great place for the kids to play. And it looks like the weather is cooperating and making for a great fall season.

Thanks for all the great pictures you share.

Love ya.
