Well I think we got an official diagnosis today. We're sick. And the doctor thinks its the flu. Not the stomach, throwing up flu (thank goodness...there's few things worse than cleaning up throw up around the house!), but the real influenza...body aches, cough, nasal congestion, occasional sore throat, other-yuckiness kind-of-flu. That being said, it really hasn't been that bad. Well, okay, Benson has been the worst of us all. He started it all out last Wednesday afternoon when he came home early from school. And he's pretty much been sick ever since, with a continued daily fever. I took he and Claire into the instant care last Thursday because they were both complaining of a hurt ear; and although their ears were red, it wasn't a full-blown infection yet so she suggested we wait. I thought Benson was getting better on Monday, so I sent him to school on Tuesday...but I was wrong. He came home feverish after lunch again and hasn't been back to school since. Mabel has had an occasional fever, but hasn't been terribly sick, and Claire hasn't had a fever at all, thankfully. The doctor today said they both now DO have full-blown ear infections and they are on meds for that.
So we all (including Jared and myself) are enduring through the remainder of those flu symptoms. Thank goodness for Tylenol and IB profin. That's helped keep us all fairly playful and pleasant to be around. We've been watching way too many movies, coloring, eating lots of chicken noodle soup, playing games, reading, staying in our pajamas all day long, making cookies {cuz you especially need an extra special treat when you're feeling kinda down}, and even napping. Benson slept for 3 hours this afternoon, and Claire slept for 2 hours yesterday!! Ya know somethings up when there's a report like that!
Hopefully it'll pass soon. Good thing it's extra freezing outside. We haven't felt like going anywhere anyway.

Sorry to hear about the flu.
And hopefully it will be out of your house soon. But it sounds like you are coping pretty good with the kids.
Best of luck on a quick recovery and back to a regular routine.
