So we've had a lot of time on our hands here at home. Benson has been home from school for nearly two weeks! That's a long time of being sick! He was all ready to go back today until we got the phone call from the school at 5:30 a.m. telling us that school was canceled for the day because of the icy weather conditions. So we had yet another day at home today!
I love the creativity these two come up with when they're together. It's so much easier and more fun to be creative when there's a good partner by your side...and these two (along with the third when she's not napping) have formed a pretty good partnership. Here's a bit of what we've been up to over the past few weeks:
Nothing like a little camping in January! They said it was almost as fun as real camping outside...but for January, it'll do.
And what's camping with a camp fire? The slippers are the logs giving heat to a blazing red fire. Yum...marshmallows!
Playing with the rice just isn't good enough anymore. Now we have to play in the rice. "Hey mom, there's rice in my toes." hum...what did you think might happen if you got in the tub?!
And then we had a little fun with some baking soda, vinegar and food coloring. Now that's a great combination!
apples.
Taking medicine to get over the flu/ear infections has become a nightly ritual they've all looked forward to over the past 5 days. It was exciting for them to do it all at the same time. Four m&m's as a reward for swallowing it all down was probably a big part of their anticipation for medicine time!! Mabel was pretty upset tonight that her meds were completed after this mornings dose. "candy CANDY!"
And this one just because she's cute!! She came up with this array of accessories completely on her own. Just doesn't get much better than that!!
Hurray for feeling much better on the home front.

It is so fun to have built-in playmates. We were home last week sick and I kept thinking..."well they are making big big messes, but at least they are creative!"
Everyone is looking so grown up! Glad you are all on the mend.
Sometimes the best times are the unexpected and spontaneous times, when things just happen the way they do. And yes kids are creative if given the chance.
Looks like great fun for all.
Glad that things are on the mend.
The sun is shining today and hope it shines on you, too.
Love ya,
