This is one fantastic picture!! It is one of my new favorites. Benson finished up his flag football season this past week and this picture sums up what he did best! In case you can't tell, Benson is the one in the orange, pulling the flag off the boy in the blue who is but one step away from making the game-winning touchdown! Benson is the only defender who caught up with him--and with that final lunge that you see right in the picture, he makes it count and pulls the flag!!! Talk about exhilaration!! Makes a heart happy--many hearts happy in fact. (Just ask his coaches!) The blue team did get a first-down with that run and therefore had 4 chances to score a touchdown, but Benson's team was able to hold them there, avoid a touchdown, and won the game!! Awesome, right?! I just love this kid!! It was so fun to watch him play this season. I'm kinda sad it's over. At first I wasn't too excited about him trying out flag football; but it's been so great for him to learn and excel at something new this year! The one thing all 3 of Benson's coaches said about him when Jared chatted with them at our end-of-the-year party is that Benson is one of the smartest players they've ever seen. He knows how to take a brief second to observe before making his move...and it is more often than not, that RIGHT move to make!! Kudos to Jared for capturing such a fabulous picture :)
The other Sunday seemed like a perfect day to fly a kite to my kids. But we didn't have a kite. Well, an excuse like that isn't going to stop my kiddos. They love to be creators. They love to have fun and make their own happiness! So they grabbed out the paper, string, straws (for support behind the paper) and crayons (to make them unique) and made 3 fantastic kites--and a beautiful memory right along with it. If the wind decided to stop blowing for a few seconds, they even made their own wind with their feet pouncing just as quick as can be! I love my little creators.
