Benson and Claire were born with a rare genetic disease in which their liver produces too much oxalate--called primary hyperoxaluria. Claire's condition has progressed much faster than Benson's. She was on dialysis since she was 3 months old and for much of that time, did dialysis 3 hours a day, 6 days a week. She receive a much needed kidney / liver transplant on December 18, 2009. It is expected Benson will eventually need similar transplants.

Halloween

We've been having some great Halloween fun around here!  The kids have gotten plenty of candy with our church Trunk or Treat, visiting the Wild Life Museum for treats, and of course on Halloween night.    Benson and Mabel were super spooky and purrrrrrrfectly sweet, respectively....and Claire decided to be something different for all 3 dress-up activities!!  First she was a Queen, next she decided to dress up as a mommy (below...of course Annie is inside her sling, snug as can be!), and on Halloween night she brought out the Unicorn costume!  Loved it all!  Love this beautiful fall season!








Claire can ride without training wheels!!  She's so excited about it.  Whenever theres a few minutes of free time, all she wants to do is go ride her bike around the culdesac.  Happy 2013 Halloween!
