And we got our first big snow fall yesterday/today! The kids were so excited to play and get a sledding hill paved out in the back yard.
Benson and Claire were born with a rare genetic disease in which their liver produces too much oxalate--called primary hyperoxaluria. Claire's condition has progressed much faster than Benson's. She was on dialysis since she was 3 months old and for much of that time, did dialysis 3 hours a day, 6 days a week. She receive a much needed kidney / liver transplant on December 18, 2009. It is expected Benson will eventually need similar transplants.

week of fun
Benson had his first piano recital on Wednesday night. When he completes an entire book and can play each of the songs in that book, he gets to invite friends to our home and have his own, personal piano recital. He played 12 songs for us including Jolly Old Saint Nicholas, Mary had a Little Lamb, and his favorite Hot Cross Buns. He was so excited to have a few of his closest friends come over and celebrate with him. He did so good! He didn't let his nerves get to him and played each song nearly perfect. We are so proud of him!

And Mabel is nearly 3 weeks old!! We weighed her yesterday and she is already 8 lbs 3 oz! She is becoming more alert every day and starting to stay awake for longer periods. We are all just savoring each moment we have our little one. She is a sweet heart with a cheek full of kisses from many who love her!!

Way to go Benson. Beethoven and Bach better make room for Benson. Just another "B" to add to the list of great piano players, I would say.
I am still trying to determine who Mable looks like. I guess she just looks like Mable Sue.
Glad to see snow.
Benson, you are SUPER! Keep up the good work - you will NEVER regret if you DO, but will always regret if you DON'T!
I love the sledding hill! Brings back great memories of a year ago!
Can't believe how fast little Mabel is growing - and can't wait to have you all in my arms. I'm not quite down to counting the days yet, but after Christmas I'll probably start!
Love Always,
Grandma, GG
