Benson and Claire were born with a rare genetic disease in which their liver produces too much oxalate--called primary hyperoxaluria. Claire's condition has progressed much faster than Benson's. She was on dialysis since she was 3 months old and for much of that time, did dialysis 3 hours a day, 6 days a week. She receive a much needed kidney / liver transplant on December 18, 2009. It is expected Benson will eventually need similar transplants.

I think I've had a cold for at least 3 weeks now...and Jared claims he's had one for about 8 weeks...since Mabel was born!! I'm sure lack of sleep has NOTHING to do with it!!!

Actually, Mabel does pretty good at night. She'll sleep for a good 4 or sometimes even 5 hours...and then another 3-4 more. Sometimes, she just doesn't like going to bed. For some reason, she thinks midnight is a good time to finally start her night instead of 10 ish when Jared and I are ready for some zzzzzzz's. Such is the life of having a baby! Interesting how the one thing babies do the most of (sleep) is the one thing mommies lack the most of...especially with two other busy little ones to play with all day long!! The joys of motherhood. And I DO enjoy it!!

Mabel is 8 weeks old today. She is weighing in at a whopping 10 lbs!! Growing like a weed. She is really starting to 'look' at people and track things with her eyes. She smiles often now and is just a happy, sweet little girl!!

Lack of sleep is my main "complaint" about being a mom. Sometimes I think I would be a different person if I actually felt rested. Luckily Gage sleeps well. Natalie is my TURKEY. Ahhhh...one day.

Kids look like they are having a great time. I am amazed at how similiar Mabel and Claire look alike. It is hard for me somtime to tell them apart.
