Benson and Claire were born with a rare genetic disease in which their liver produces too much oxalate--called primary hyperoxaluria. Claire's condition has progressed much faster than Benson's. She was on dialysis since she was 3 months old and for much of that time, did dialysis 3 hours a day, 6 days a week. She receive a much needed kidney / liver transplant on December 18, 2009. It is expected Benson will eventually need similar transplants.

first week of March!

We had a snow day on Tuesday...then a sick day for Benson on Wednesday (he's had a rough winter with sicknesses)...so we've been having both some inside and outside fun around here!!

Claire has Annie's lunch packed in her lunch box.  Mabel thinks it's such a special privilege to get to hold baby Annie.  She so kindly asks Claire, "Can I hold her?"  Most the time Mabel gets lucky and gets to carefully hold Annie...unless, of course Annie just went down for a nap and needs some good rest :)

Play dough creations.  And incase you can't hear it, Claire is singing the whole time!

Claire.  She is such a good mom.  Backpack loaded with every essential baby item, high heals, and a baby softly sleeping with a carseat cover to protect from intruding visitors!

Rolling around the house.  These stepping stones have limitless options for creativity!

Pillow fort.

Our little snow bunnies!!

Claire had blood work today and everything looks great!  Benson's sickness from Wednesday was short-lived and he was back to school Thursday.  Hooray for another great week!

It looks like a lot of fun for the winter season. Before long they will be outside all day in the spring and summer.

Those stepping stones are pretty awesome if I do say so myself.
