Benson and Claire were born with a rare genetic disease in which their liver produces too much oxalate--called primary hyperoxaluria. Claire's condition has progressed much faster than Benson's. She was on dialysis since she was 3 months old and for much of that time, did dialysis 3 hours a day, 6 days a week. She receive a much needed kidney / liver transplant on December 18, 2009. It is expected Benson will eventually need similar transplants.

beautiful ballerina

It's ballet recital time!!  Claire had a big day on Saturday.  She twisted.  She turned.  She glittered and glowed!  Claire simply LOVES ballet!  And she's rather good at it, if I might say so myself.  She listened, she learned, she followed, and she shinned at her recital on Saturday!

Claire's 1st fantastic ballet teacher, Liz.

I'll try to get a portion of the video uploaded sometime soon.  It makes my heart happy to see this little girl loving to dance!  Little sister Mabel won't be far behind!  And big brother Benson will always be right there in the front row, cheering her on!

What a pleasure to witness the growth and talent that is witnessed every time Claire is able to excell. It truly warms my heart and soul to be part of her life.

Keep it up Claire. I would say break a leg. But we don't want that.

Congratulations.
