And it could be a long haul of dilating. The surgeon thinks it may be close to a year before this is all said and done with. But there's just no other good option. Trying to surgically revise the bile duct could cause Claire to lose the liver and result in a second transplanted liver. That's not a good option unless it becomes absolutely necessary. This stretching process is slow, but there have been improvements. And the fact that Claire is doing well, is without infection, and the tube is capped off is a good sign that things are opening up and flowing properly. We've got a bigger tube in there this month; each time he stretches it a little more; and we all have hope that eventually this will work.
We're all like this sometimes. Right? Slowly stretching to something more than we are right now. Trying to BE better. Trying to DO better. Making incremental improvements a bit a time. Not always successful the first time, but getting up and trying again the next "month." Can it be a pain? Yes. Are there things you can't do that you'd like to? Yes. But in the long run, the minor inconveniences outweigh the grander outcome. One day we'll get there. One day we'll have BECOME and DONE better. And so will Claire.

Our hopes and prayers are with Claire all the way. Some things take longer than others and this is just one of those things that will take time.
In the mean time, Claire appears to be doing well.
