Benson and Claire were born with a rare genetic disease in which their liver produces too much oxalate--called primary hyperoxaluria. Claire's condition has progressed much faster than Benson's. She was on dialysis since she was 3 months old and for much of that time, did dialysis 3 hours a day, 6 days a week. She receive a much needed kidney / liver transplant on December 18, 2009. It is expected Benson will eventually need similar transplants.

random picts.

Mabel loves suctioning just about anything she can to her mouth! I'm not sure how she figured that nifty trick out but it sure is fun to see what she can get stuck on there!

And here she is on a mission. She loves walking around in the dress-up high heels. I couldn't get her to stand still long enough for me to get a picture!!

Claire having fun with her babies, all packed up nicely in their new stroller. This was just after she got home from the hospital...and yes, she did have to pull the IV pole along all day long so her baby could get the medicine she needed. :) Full hands!
