Benson and Claire were born with a rare genetic disease in which their liver produces too much oxalate--called primary hyperoxaluria. Claire's condition has progressed much faster than Benson's. She was on dialysis since she was 3 months old and for much of that time, did dialysis 3 hours a day, 6 days a week. She receive a much needed kidney / liver transplant on December 18, 2009. It is expected Benson will eventually need similar transplants.

thursday

Labs actually looked good from yesterday. Liver numbers were mostly similar to last week. So good. We'll take it.

We can't enjoy enough time outside lately!! The weather is perfect. Not cold. Not too hot. Not humid. This is the time to enjoy Minnesota!! And we are. Mabel has no fear at the parks. She goes down ALL the slides, climbs every mountain, and swings right along with the rest of them! So fun.

Not a whole lot else to say for now...

Glad to hear that Claire's numbers are working out.

Spring is a great time to most any place, but especially in Minnisota.
