Happy Birthday

Princess!!!

Claire had a great b-day this year! (much better than last year's which was spent in hospital rooms all day long). Here's the run down of this birthday girl's day:

-played babies with brother
-washed syringes in a tub of water
-did Baby Annie's milk and blood work
-decorated for a party
-blew out the #3 candle on the ducky cake (designed and mastered by dad)
-opened presents--and was always ready for another one
-played with her music machine, tea party set, and new kitchen utensils
-tried on the new bike helmet (from brother) and rode bikes with dad
-ate (kind of) birthday cake--mostly licked frosting off from her fingers and took bites of ice cream
-put baby Annie to bed and is finally snoozing herself

It was a great day. No hospital visits, limited tears, no big melt downs, a happy day had by all!! I love remembering the day/time/moment when this princess joined our family. It was an amazing experience to be a part of. It feels like she's been here a lot longer than 3 years after all she's been through! I'm so grateful for each day she has to live. We simply love everything about this little one.

Not only was it a big day for Claire, but Benson also had something to celebrate. His first day of school! He barley misses the deadline for kindergarten, so he will have one more year of preschool. He had a great first day and is excited for many more to come!!
