Benson and Claire were born with a rare genetic disease in which their liver produces too much oxalate--called primary hyperoxaluria. Claire's condition has progressed much faster than Benson's. She was on dialysis since she was 3 months old and for much of that time, did dialysis 3 hours a day, 6 days a week. She receive a much needed kidney / liver transplant on December 18, 2009. It is expected Benson will eventually need similar transplants.

another week

Claire decided she loves rice cereal! Mabel can't have some without a second helping for Claire! I guess that's a good thing. If she learns to eat, right along with Mabel, I'll TAKE IT!!!

Benson and Claire must have cabin fever. The weather was nice all last week and then it got cold on us for the weekend. They pretty much drove Jared and I NUTZ for the weekend as they had so much energy and just wanted to go outside to let it all out!!! Wild. They were just silly wild!!

Claire will go into see the liver doctor on thursday. Blood work thursday too. It will be good to see where things are at.

It must be that time of year, when you just want to be outside. I planted a bush and a cactus today. So I must feel just like Benson and Claire, I too like beeing out side.
