Benson and Claire were born with a rare genetic disease in which their liver produces too much oxalate--called primary hyperoxaluria. Claire's condition has progressed much faster than Benson's. She was on dialysis since she was 3 months old and for much of that time, did dialysis 3 hours a day, 6 days a week. She receive a much needed kidney / liver transplant on December 18, 2009. It is expected Benson will eventually need similar transplants.

babies continued

Oh, and the fact that babies don't talk back, complain, or whine is a breath of fresh air. No time outs necessary, threats to enforce, or counting to 1-2-3 fifty times a day. All they need is a smile and someone to pick them up to make them happy! With Baby #3 I think I'm really starting to understand the phrase "if only they could just stay little."

I love my kids! All of them. It's just fun having so many different stages going on here!

No hospital trips planed this week. Sweet. More time to enjoy the spring weather!!

When I was growning up there was a show "Kids say the Funniest Things" Not only do they say the funniest things they do the funniest, they even think the funniest things.

Kids are the same with each new generation. And that is a good thing.

Love you kids.
