Benson and Claire were born with a rare genetic disease in which their liver produces too much oxalate--called primary hyperoxaluria. Claire's condition has progressed much faster than Benson's. She was on dialysis since she was 3 months old and for much of that time, did dialysis 3 hours a day, 6 days a week. She receive a much needed kidney / liver transplant on December 18, 2009. It is expected Benson will eventually need similar transplants.

bunny fu fu

No results today. Turns out I'll be meeting with the doctor tomorrow afternoon. But we did get to see the Easter Bunny at the mall! None of the kids were too sure about getting close to the fluffy rabbit--Mabel would have nothing to do with it! And since Peter doesn't talk, like a good rabbit shouldn't, it really ended up being just a quick hi, pict, and good bye. Works for me!

Benson's comments tonight about seeing his picture with the Easter bunny: "It's not a real bunny. Bunnies are just bunnies and not people. The real Easter Bunny is a bunny. That's just a person under there because he can stand and has arms and legs like a person. He sure does look good in the picture, though. He's always looking straight at the camera."

I love Mabel's peach Levi jacket. It is darling. I think that dance performance would have been so adorable to watch. I love seeing the little ones dance. They have so much enthusiasm! So fun. Benson is very thoughtful with his comments about the Easter Bunny. What a good bunny to look right at the camera like that. :) SO CUTE!

Hope the biopsy results are good...
