Benson and Claire were born with a rare genetic disease in which their liver produces too much oxalate--called primary hyperoxaluria. Claire's condition has progressed much faster than Benson's. She was on dialysis since she was 3 months old and for much of that time, did dialysis 3 hours a day, 6 days a week. She receive a much needed kidney / liver transplant on December 18, 2009. It is expected Benson will eventually need similar transplants.

good times in Utah

We've been busy. Isn't that what vacations are for?!

On Saturday we went to the Natural History Museum in Salt Lake City. After exploring the water, caves, Indian tepees, animals, and the dinosaur bones, we went to the new Creek Side shopping center downtown. That was a fun filled day. Thursday and Friday were play-around-Grandma's house kind-of-days. New toys. New cousins. New Grandparents. New swing set. New fun!

This was Benson in Jackson Hole a few weeks ago, bouncing high to the sky on the huge trampoline. And although you can't quite make it out...there is a big smile on his face!!

This morning Jared and I started the day off right with an early morning golf game with Grandma and Ryan! The scenery was beautiful around the mountains with the Great Salt Lake in view too. And even though we're far from golf-pros....we can at least hit the ball and have a lot of fun doing it!! I even got one PAR today too...the first in a while :) This afternoon I got to visit with one of my very best friends. Adelle. For Halloween one year in high school I dressed up as the farmer. She got to be Adelle. So fun to have a friendship with no bounds of time, location, or circumstance! I love this gal. Always will.

24th of July fireworks and rodeo fun upcoming tomorrow!!
