Benson and Claire were born with a rare genetic disease in which their liver produces too much oxalate--called primary hyperoxaluria. Claire's condition has progressed much faster than Benson's. She was on dialysis since she was 3 months old and for much of that time, did dialysis 3 hours a day, 6 days a week. She receive a much needed kidney / liver transplant on December 18, 2009. It is expected Benson will eventually need similar transplants.

More Jackson Fun

The trademark of Jackson Hole...the elk horn arches!

Horse fun!

Mabel enjoyed every minute on her pony ride. She is a brave one-year old! Not an ounce of fear came out of that girl. Benson was so excited to ride his own horse on the "adult" trail ride and Claire was very pleased to ride atop the pony...but wanted Daddy walking along side.

Boat trip across Jenny's lake and the waterfall hike. Benson and Torsten are quite the Junior Ranger explorers!!

Claire was so excited for her first top-bunk-bed-sleeping night!
