Benson and Claire were born with a rare genetic disease in which their liver produces too much oxalate--called primary hyperoxaluria. Claire's condition has progressed much faster than Benson's. She was on dialysis since she was 3 months old and for much of that time, did dialysis 3 hours a day, 6 days a week. She receive a much needed kidney / liver transplant on December 18, 2009. It is expected Benson will eventually need similar transplants.

last hurray!

Our vacation has quickly drawn to a close. But not without a few last days of fun!!

Jared and I snuck one last golf game in with his two brothers and my dad. I probably don't have to mention we had a great time...but we did! We had a BBQ at Jared's sister's house Thursday night with ALL of his siblings. They haven't all been together for 4ish years...so that was great! Benson loved playing soccer with Uncle Zach and Mabel loved her delicious ice cream dessert! (see picts below). It's so fun just to "hang!"

We celebrated my brother Ryan's birthday with lunch on Friday. That evening all the girls in Jared's family spoiled ourselves with a girls night out, including dinner and the musical Wicked in SLC! It was so fun. I love Love LOVE the music, the theater, and the girls I got to go with! Jared went to see BatMan with his brother and the kids had a fun night out with Grandpa and cousins. Fun night for everyone!! What a way to end a month jam packed of amazing family fun!

One night Benson was lying in bed thinking while we were getting Claire ready. "Mom, Claire hasn't gotten sick the whole time we've been on vacation. Isn't that amazing?!" "Yes, Benson. That has definitely been a huge blessing that she's been so healthy." "No mom. It's a miracle!"

And it is. We've been so blessed with good health for one full month....even with wild schedules, crazy sleep schedules, travel germs, and doing LOTS of different/new things in new places! That's incredible to me. I am simply overwhelmed with gratitude!

Now time to face the 20+ hour ride back to reality!! Wish Mabel luck! She might need it!

I agree that you are very blessed by our Father in Heaven to enjoy health and protection after all the things you were able to pack in to the month.
