Claire has had another great day so far! We are still slowly pulling fluid off her little body and she's starting to look like our little girl again! Since midnight, they have removed 190 mls. She definitely still has a ways to go, but we're getting there. They have decreased her dependence on the breathing tube even more and will continue to gradually 'wean' her off from that. She is using her lungs somewhat to breath on her own, but still has some progress to make there. Good news is they are hoping to have her off the breathing tube tomorrow! We're not counting on anything till it actually happens...but at least something to hope for!
They also did pull out the chest tube. It was where the big white patch is on her right side now. We love getting rid of tubes!
They did find a clot in her right leg, where they removed that one IV line from. It is a small clot and right now, they're not going to do anything about it. They'll keep watching it and decide what action to take/if any after other things are settled.
We are starting her on a very SMALL amount of nutrition. She has been getting some nutrition IV, but they now want to start to slowly wake up the bowel through her G-tube (stomach tube). She'll be getting 3 mls / hour!
