We've had a fairly good night. Claire's fever has gone down, even without the help of Tylenol. Yeah! Hopefully it stays that way! Her urine output is still not quite what they'd like to see, but it is enough to not cause too much concern. They've said that often times, it takes a few days for the kidney to really kick into action, so the amount of urine it's producing now is sufficient. They've given her a few doses of lasix to help her urinate more...and that helps once she gets it, but then it wears off and she's back to where she was at before. We'll just keep praying that the kidney will get into shape and do it's duty to the fullest!! She is much more puffy today than yesterday because they've given her a lot of fluid to try to motivate the kidney to get filter it out.
They are doing another kidney and liver ultrasound right now to make sure the blood flow to both organs is open. We'll get the report about that later.
Claire's surgeon, Dr. Heimbach, stopped by this morning to see how things were going. Here's the woman whose skilled hands and sharp intellect saved our princess's life!

We're still not sure about dialysis for today. Labs are still pending. They are thinking very strongly about taking the breathing tube out today and letting her wake up!! When the sleeping meds start to wear off or she hears a familiar voice, Claire is half-way out the door! She wants to wake up so bad...arches her back, flings her arms and legs all over, tries to sit up, etc. etc. etc.!! It takes at least 2 of us to hold her down! She's a fighter, which is just what we need in this princess! Hopefully we will be able to see her beautiful eyes again today.

Thank yo so much for all the updates. I have been thinking of Claire and keeping her in my prayers. Keep fighting, Little Princess!
I have been without Internet since you got the big news. . Shauna has been keeping me updated. I've been praying my little heart out! I'm so glad that everything is going so well! It's amazing how fast it all happened once she got bumped up the list! I loved your analogy about waiting to have a baby, it made it very relateable. But I still can't imagine being in your shoes. As always, you all amaze me! I'm hoping and praying that everything continues to go well. This is the best Christmas present you could have ever asked for! Lots of love!
found your website through another blog. praying for you all in baltimore.
